Megpix Portrait Tips:CHOOSING A LOCATION - The location you choose can say something about who you are. To give you some ideas... stones, trees, water, books, art, or old buildings say something about your character. If you want to go for simple and elegant, a black background is great. BACKGROUND COLORS - In the studio, I often work with a white background. If you'd prefer something else, please let me know ahead of time so I can have it on-hand. CHOOSING CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES - Make sure to bring formal and informal clothing choices. In both studios or on location, you'll have time to change and look your best. Iron, hang, and bag any formal wear. HAIR & MAKEUP - Subtle makeup is best. Women should emphasize eyes and lips, and other features you like about yourself. Men should moisturize lips with chapstick or some kind of balm. Bring your brush or comb and makeup bag for touchups. COMMUNICATION - Tell me what moods you're interested in for the pictures, as well as the purpose of the pictures so that we can work in that direction. GROUPS - Coordinate colors that will work well together, but also look good on each person. KIDS BEHAVIOR - Kids are wiggly! that's more than okay - it's great. We might make a racket, but you'll find that the wiggles can produce the most lively and fun portraits. BABIES - Bring extra diaper(s). Bring an attractive blanket. Make sure you wear something nice yourself - you may be photographed with the baby, even when you least expect it! FOOD - Consider bringing a snack and drink for yourself and any children. MUSIC - Bring some CD's you like to listen to, that make you relax, and/or get you all revved up. YOUR HOMEWORK - Get a good couple of nights sleep. Take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) before bed and in the morning before your shoot to have you looking your best. STUDIO LOCATIONS -
