Painless Portraits

Untitled photo

Over the years, I've developed a collaborative style that's inclusive, fun, and painless. Let's talk details!

Before the session: We'll talk to figure everything out together, including location, clothing, timing, and especially snacks for kids and other fussy people!

During the session: Think of it as structured play. I make it easy to slide into a playful state of mind, where dynamic family interactions happen naturally. In your more formal clothing, we'll get to know each other. When you change into the clothes the kids picked out, and they show me their favorite stuffed animals or loveys, we get to Ultimate Comfort. Before we know it, there are dozens of amazing images to look through.

After the session: Next, we'll meet via zoom. I have a system that makes it less challenging to hone down the choices. I'll either make heirloom prints, books, story boards, memory boxes, and picture panels, or get digital files ready. Or both! For most items you order, the high-res digital image(s) comes with.

Locations: I love to photograph in other places, so hit me up to see if it's a reasonable drive. My studio in Lowell has easy parking, big backdrops, and landing space for kids. The white-backdrop sessions are a family favorite.

Megpix Studio: 122 Western Ave. Studio 229 Lowell MA 01851

Pricing: $300 includes the session and up to 3 digital images with tier-1 edits. Each additional image is $75, with sets available too. Wall panels start at $125, but my favorite triptych starts at $325. The Goldilocks Memory Box (it's just right) is $600 with 12 prints and those digital images. And the Family Story Book is $750 with 15 prints and digitals. Send me a quick message and I'll forward you the whole price menu.

Refunds & Sick Policy: If you or a loved one is sick, stay home and get better. Your session fee can be held until everyone is healthy, or transferred to another family. I am vaccinated against covid-19, but I will wear a mask during our session. Please wear masks to enter the building, and keep them on until the last moment. I'll take care of mask marks in photoshop.
